By now you’re well aware of how amazing coconut oil is – but do you know how to use it for your teeth?
As it happens, coconut oil makes a great natural toothpaste alternative, and recent research has shown it’s tremendously effective at keeping teeth healthy and clean. It’s also an excellent antibacterial!
Even better, using coconut oil means getting to avoid all of the chemicals regularly present in most toothpastes.
Check out this easy recipe below!
- ½ c coconut oil
- 2-3 tbsp baking soda
- 15-30 drops essential oil of choice (for taste; optional)
- Mix all the ingredients, and use the paste as any other toothpaste!
Coconut oil also works well for oil pulling – simply swish a spoonful in your mouth for 5-20 minutes on an empty stomach, then spit the oil out. The oil naturally pulls bacteria from your mouth, leaving your teeth healthy, clean, and white!
