Instant noodles are a really popular to-go snack, lunch or dinner for those who have limited time or cash like college students and some workers. Yes, you might probably don’t consider them a healthy food, but you may think they are not that bad to sate your hunger.
Unfortunately, continuous intake of instant noodles can harm your overall health as it does not contain any nutritional value.
In a first-of-its-kind experiment, Dr. Braden Kuo of Massachusetts General Hospital may make you reconsider your love of instant noodles (assuming you love them). He explained and exhibited how your stomach and digestive tract contracts back and forth in an effort to grind the noodles.
The video shows the inside of a person’s digestive tract who just ate ramen noodles. Nobody ever saw how the noodles were being digested.
Thanks to advancements in medical technology a smartpill camera that can be swallowed like a capsule we can now see that it takes the stomach much longer to digest the processed food when compared to home-made noodles. This is because processed food had chemicals and preservatives that extends its shelf life.
However, Dr. Kuo cannot conclude that processed food is harmful. So, will you still continue eating instant noodles after watching the video? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below!
