Drinking milk on a daily basis is essential for bone and teeth health and for many other organs as well. In the past few years, people have been warned to stay away from full fat dairy products and to consume low-fat products instead. Nevertheless, there is no concrete proof that low-fat dairy products are healthy and safe to use.
The Danger in Conventional Dairy Products
According to David Ludwig, a researcher and pediatrician from Harvard, dairy products contain artificial sweeteners which can harm the costumer’s health. Just one cup of 2% milk contains 12.3 grams sugar, which equals to processed chocolates and snacks. You may think low-fat milk is good for your health, but it actually contains a lot of sugar and other harmful ingredients.
Sweetened beverages harmful effect to human’s health, according to the research published in the Journal of the American Association. Regular consumption of high amount of sugar can lead to obesity, diabetes, and other inflammatory health conditions, says the American Academy of Pediatrics and the US Department of Agriculture.
It`s Time to Stop Drinking Low-Fat Milk
This is the most unnatural type of foods. Many people think that this is an healthier option, but actually, it`s the opposite. This kind of products goes through a chain of processes to lower their fat and make them taste better. These processes along with the great amount of sugar put low-fat milk on the top of unhealthy foods. This is the reason why people who drink low-fat milk regularly are actually obese. Sadly, health organizations still recommend the consumption of this milk. Moreover, USDA even tells American people to drink three glasses of low-fat milk every day. This is what Ludwig is trying to change.
Ludwig encourages the consumption of milk with fat instead of the low-fat one. The natural fat in milk is healthy type of fat, while the polyunsaturated fats and trans fats found in the low-fat milk are really bad for people`s health.
Bearing in mind these facts, you should consume full-fat milk instead of low-fat milk.
Moreover, for years full-fat milk has been associated with development of coronary disease, but it is actually the opposite. Regular consumption of fat milk can prevent diabetes, improve heart health, and promote the absorption of nutrients in the body.
