Columbia University’s medical center in New York conducted a study to investigate the impact of cocoa on memory weakening. This study involved 37 volunteers aged from 50 to 69 years. They were divided into two groups. One group drank beverages with high amounts of flavonoids (cocoa), while the other group drank beverages with small amount of flavonoids.
After three months, the group that drank beverages with higher amount of flanovoids scored better results in their visual memory and overall memory.
At the start of the study, the participants had memory which is typical for people in their 60s, but in the end of the study they had memory which is characteristic for a person aged between 30 and 40 years. Therefore, experts recommend consuming as much cocoa as possible in order to improve our memory.
