Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by muscle and joint pain. Researchers claim that this illness increases painful sensations by affecting the way the brain processes pain. Its symptoms include: fatigue, muscle pain, sleep problems, and mood issues.
Take a look at the complete list of symptoms below. Normally, people hardly notice them. However, it is best to consult your doctor to if you are experiencing the following symptoms.
-Concentration and memory problems — known as “fibro fog”
-Irritable bowel syndrome
-Painful menstrual cramps
-Numbness, and tingling in hands, arms, feet, and legs
-Urinary symptoms, such as pain or frequency
Women are more prone to fibromyalgia than men. Usually, people who have this disorder suffer tension headaches, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and depression. Also, WebMD says that many people with fibromyalgia are often caring for others, either by parenting or caregiving for an older person. In turn, they allot little time to take care of their own health and well-being which allows sickness backfire at them.
There is no cure for this disorder, though various treatments can help ease the symptoms. It is also recommended to consult a doctor or rheumatologist regarding this matter. Exercise, sleep, and indulging in relaxation and stress-reduction activities may help.
